The Great Adventure

These days this is what is MAGICAL and serves as "The Great Adventure" for me...
1. Climbing mountains.
2. Patience, Pausing, and Preparing.
3. Helping, Mentoring and Giving Back.
4. Relaxing at a Jazz Fest in the Park.
5. Taking your dog to your friends' houses as your date.
6. Being silly and not caring so much about what others think.
7. Enjoying a crazy, sweaty 90 minute cycle class that completely changes your perspective on life teaching you that YOU CAN, SO YOU DO.
8. Sleeping in a tent next to a house, just 'cause.
9. Fruit, spinach, protein powder smoothies for breakfast.
10. Enjoying the journey to Hanumanasana (full splits).
11. Yoga Poses at 14,015 feet.
12. Jumping head first into a new adventure for your other half and their and your dreams!
13. Letting go of what no longer serves you in order to make room for the things that enrich your life and allow you to enrich others' lives.
14. Life Balance - physically, mentally, emotionally.
15. Adventure Every Day.

Happy Winter Solstice

The Winter Solstice reminds me that we are entering days filled with increasing light. How beautiful is that ? Celebrating Hanukkah during the Solstice reminds me how important it is to have light our hearts no matter how we are feeling...The light will always be there for us to hold on to, even in these dark days of wintertime.

Celebrate the light, celebrate the dark :) For the light would go unnoticed if there wasn't darkness after all.

Happy Solstice / Happy Chanukkah!

YOGA, DANCE, LIFE: Quotes to Live By

(via here )

“I did not come to yoga to stretch. I came to live.” Maya Breuer

“What I want to say is that there is a strong relationship between yoga on the mat and yoga off the mat. I’ve really come to believe that the energy accumulated in practice has a lot to do with my ability to get clarity about the reality of things.” John Friend

“When you’re experiencing peace, it’s coming from within you, you’re ‘doing’ peace. And this is true of anything else you might be looking for. Love, happiness, contentment, well-being come from within. Nothing external needs to change for you to have what you want…..If you want to be happier – be happier. If you want to be more relaxed – relax. If you want more friends – be friendly. Sounds simple. It is.”  Cheri Huber

"Doubt everything. Find your own light." -Buddha

The most important pieces of equipment you need for doing yoga are your body and your mind. -Rodney Yee

Fear less, hope more; eat less, chew more; whine less, breathe more; talk less, say more; hate less, love more; and all good things are yours. (via my sister)

Watch your thoughts; they become words.
Watch your words; they become actions.
Watch your actions; they become habits.
Watch your habits; they become character.

Watch your character;
 for it becomes your destiny.

- Upanishads

First of all the twinkling stars vibrated,
but remained motionless
 in space,
then all the celestial globes were united into one series of movements.

… Firmament and planets both disappeare
d,
but the mighty breath which gives life to all things and in which all is bound up remained.

– Vincent Van Gogh

There is vitality,
a life force that is translated
 through you into action.
And because there is only one of you in all time,
this expression
 is unique,
and if you block it, it will never exist through any other medium and be lost.
It is not your business to determine how good it is,
or how valuable it is,
or how it compares with others expression
s.
It is your business to keep it yours,
to keep the channel open.
You do not even have to believe
in yourself
or your works.
You have to keep an open mind
and be aware directly to the urges that motivate you.

-Maratha Graham

"Fall with awareness and acceptance" -Brian Kest

"Health is wealth. Peace of mind is happiness. Yoga shows the way." - Swami Vishnu-devananda

"Follow your bliss." - Joseph Campbell

"Imagination is the beginning of creation. You imagine what you desire, you will what you imagine and at last you create what you will." -George Bernard Shaw

"Be here now." -Ram Dass
