Roof Over My Head

Tonight we went to a showing to view a possible home for rent...
We absolutely adored it!
3 bed 2 bath, new interior finishes throughout including wood floors,
a garage, a fenced yard, pets allowed :) And in a nice neighborhood
to boot.

Fingers are crossed...

We still have about (8) other homes in our spreadsheet to view, so I am
going to schedule some of those just in case...

Tonight I am grateful to even be able to look for a new roof over
my head. Love to all and good night!

Movie Night

Justin has been out of town working and training all week.
I have been busy this week, too, holding down the fort...
So, tonight, thank goodness, is movie night!
We are watching Pitch Perfect.
Happy Friday!

Best line from the movie so far...
"You're really drunk right now, I don't think you
are going to remember any of this..."

Hiatus

Now that I am writing every day (more or less)
on the blog... And now that I am working a full
time job and (3) part time yoga jobs, I have noticed
that I would love some *extra* time on my hands.

Life needs to be lived.
Dreams need to be dreamed...
While sleeping normal hours in the night!

So, I have decided to take a hiatus from
Facebook. I started yesterday. It really gives me more
time to talk on the phone with the people I am
missing rather than just typing them a message.
It even allows me to enjoy the time with
people I am seeing in person!
Simply put...
It puts the heart back into friendship.
We shall see how long this lasts.
I am liking it so far!!
Xx.

Have you ever taken a hiatus from Facebook
or technology in general?
Did it help you create space for something
else in your life?

It's a Date

Yesterday we went to see The Palm Beach Opera
perform "La Traviata" at the Kravis Center. I got tickets for
Justin for Christmas... The main character gets Tuberculosis
(which is what the hubbie works with) so he of course
was interested!

If you haven't gone before, I highly recommend it.
The opera took me back to a simpler time.

A time when orchestras and live singing and
acting were the greatest and most
unbelievable of things.

A time when dressing up for a date was the best thing ever.

Opera equals pure joy in my book.

Happy Friday!

I am typing this on Justin's laptop tonight
and I don't really have any options to
change font or insert images.
Strange.
Anywho...
We are in Orlando tonight staying with Justin's family.
Tomorrow we are headed to the opera in Palm Beach!
Have a fabulous weekend! :)

    until all surfaces are coated.

8. Following 20 minutes, cook for 5 minute increments moving
the kale around until are sides are crisp!

Yoga Ponderings

I prepared for a good part of the morning
for the yoga class I taught this evening at 9:30pm.
The class is taught so late because it is a slot
at a university rec center.
The goal was to teach the students a class that
was much more challenging and invigorating
than last week's sequencing...

Tonight was definitely a success!

I learned that I needed to revisit a practice that
included a more intermediate flow and asana
sequence. This is the kind of yoga that is
so difficult for the body... that it actually clears
the mind!
You are unable to think about anything else.
I have missed classes like the one I taught,
for months now!!
And I am so excited to keep the momentum
going in my class offerings this semester!

I received wonderful feedback from
students tonight, and I am eager to keep
with the challenge of bringing my students
the yoga that they love each and every class...
A yoga that challenges, invigorates, and surrenders
the mind and the body...
Goodnight!

Mirror, Mirror

I am currently in search of a snazzy full length mirror
for the bedroom and possibly a cute wall mirror for the
living room!! Here are a few inspiration images...
Hoping to thrift a mirror or 2 here soon!

each bathroom trying to see my full outfit!}

Oysters for Dinner!

Wow! This weekend has been pretty awesome to say the least!
I spent it in Tampa/St. Petersburg with my mom and my sisters-
a fun girls' weekend indeed!
I learned I had a love for raw oysters Friday night and while
driving home I called Justin and guess what he wanted to make
for dinner?! You guessed it.. Oysters!

Wedding Details

Last month, my sister-in-law was married, and I found a few silly photos I had taken quickly with my iPhone. These images are pretty fuzzy, which reminds me I am saving for a fabulous camera to hopefully purchase in about a year! I am literally setting aside quarters and dimes for this one, so it should take some time to save!

Case of the Funnies

I think it's quite okay not to have something
insightful or intelligent to say every day on the blog.
So, here are a few funnies I have seen on Facebook!
Enjoy and Happy {almost} Friday, my friends!

Yoga Inspiration

"Take up one idea.
Make that one idea your life-
Think of it, dream of it,
live on that idea.
Let the brain,
muscles, nerves, and
every part of your body be full
of that idea, and just leave
every other idea alone.
This is the way to success."
-Swami Vivekananda

Totally needed this quotation tonight!
I pulled it from the February 2013 Issue
of Yoga Journal magazine.

Below and above are few poses that are inspiring
my yoga sequencing and theming for tomorrow
evening's class at UF!

Oh, Audrey.

‎"The beauty of a girl is not in the clothes she wears, the figure that she carries, or the way she combs her hair. The beauty of a girl is seen in her eyes, because that is the doorway to her heart, the place where love resides. True beauty in a girl is reflected in her soul. It’s the caring that she lovingly gives, the passion that she shows & the beauty of a girl only grows with passing years."

Yoga Saturday

Life happens in cycles.
We have our ups, our downs.
We have our good days, our bad days.
There is one cycle, one part of our life though
that we can always on.
What is it?
Our breath!
This morning I had my students focus on
the rise and fall of their breath. This is
the focus because this matters so much
more than the asanas, the poses.
Our breath is our source of life.
Without it, we are lifeless.
Focussing on your breath during
the good and the bad in your day to
day helps you gauge how you are handling
a situation. Taking a deep breath before answering
a difficult question whether you are in an
interview or speaking with a loved one...
Breath allows us a moment to think,
to breathe, to feel, to decide...
If you focus on anything in your
practice today, maybe choose to focus
on your breath - the rise, the fall, and
just how lucky you are to be breathing
here on this beautiful Earth!

Happy Friday.

1. What I'm Reading... The Butterfly Forest by Tom Lowe. Reading this because my husband read it and loved it. It is a mystery/thriller that actually takes place in Gainesville, Florida.

2. What I'm Eating... Tonight we had takeout thai from Bento Cafe - I had the Basil Bento: udon noodles with veggies and beef! Absolutely delish!

3. What I'm listening to... Jazz Music! Heard some great tunes today in a friend's car; I'll share a specific artist and song next week. I am also enjoying hearing Justin practice on his guitar. He sounds so much better than I did when I first began on the violin! I am so proud of him.

4. What I'm Excited about... Teaching as a Group Fitness Instructor {yoga} starting next week at University of Florida. This weekend I am going to compile a rough week by week recipe for flows I will be teaching that build each week!

5. What I'm Watching... College football bowl games! I have no words for the UF vs. Louisville game that was on Wednesday night....

6. Recipe I have Bookmarked... Limonana...A treat that originated in Israel, one of my favorite places I have visited to date!

Last photograph of 2012...

First photograph of 2013...

Talk about transition time!
I have a couple of job shadows/observations coming up this month

2. Volunteer at Shands Hospital in the Arts and Medicine program.
3. Teach four or more yoga classes per week.
4. Apply to University of Florida (and be accepted!)

And now to the fun stuff!
1. Beach weekend in Cedar Key
2. Family girls weekend in St. Pete/Tampa
3. Take a yoga class at Sanctuary Yoga
4. Learn conversational French or another language
5. Yoga retreat in Costa Rica
6. Attend the opera
